ABOUT HEEM

HEEM PILATES

“Heem” (힘) is the Korean word for strength, power, energy, and inner force. More than physical strength, it represents resilience, control, and the quiet power that comes from within — values that are deeply reflected in the Pilates method and the philosophy behind Heem Pilates. Pronounced heem (sounds like “heem”), the name was chosen to honor both Korean heritage and the transformative strength cultivated through movement.

Heem Pilates is rooted in the classical method of Pilates — the original system created by Joseph Pilates — emphasizing breathing, centering, concentration, control, flow, and precision. The work is taught with a deep respect for the authentic lineage and intention of the method while creating a personalized and supportive experience for every client.

Jenny’s pilates journey began through her own physical transformation and connection to the work. Through consistent practice, she experienced firsthand how Pilates could strengthen not only the body, but also mind and body awareness, balance, and overall well-being. What started as a personal journey evolved into a passion for helping others feel stronger and more connected within themselves.

Jenny completed her comprehensive certification through the Equinox Fitness Training Institute and continues to deepen her education through continued education seminars, workshops, mentorship, and private lessons. She has studied with respected instructors closely connected to the original Joseph Pilates and Romana Kryzanowska lineage, preserving the integrity and tradition of classical Pilates while continuing to grow as a teacher and a student of the work.

At Heem Pilates, the goal is to help clients build strength with intention — developing balance, discipline, confidence, and power from the inside out.
